Description
The fifth generation (L460) Range Rover was revealed in October 2021 by the Jaguar Land
Rover (JLR) Chief Creative Officer and the car's designer, Gerry McGovern, at the Royal
Opera House in London.
Built on JLR's MLA-Flex platform, the car is the first from JLR to use an engine developed
under the combustion and electrified powertrain, partnership agreed upon between JLR and BMW
in 2019, the 4.4L twin-turbocharged BMW/JLR P530 V8, which delivers 523bhp and 553lb-ft
of torque to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shift
and low-range capability. The result is a 0-60mph sprint time of just 4.6 seconds.
The luxury-focused Autobiography model comes with a raft of desirable equipment as
standard, including heated, electric, power folding door mirrors with approach lights and
auto-dimming, black brake callipers, heated washer jets, the power gesture tailgate, rain
sensing windscreen wipers, animated directional indicators, automatic self-levelling
headlights with cleaning function, LED tail lights, front fog lights, keyless entry, soft-close
doors and the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
Inside, each car comes with 24-way heated and cooled electric front seats with massage
function, power recline heated and ventilated rear seats, illuminated seat belt buckles, a
heated multi-function steering wheel, an electrically adjustable steering column, illuminated
metal treadplates with Autobiography script, cabin lighting, four-zone climate control, twin-
blade sun visors with illuminated vanity mirrors, electric rear window blinds, luggage tie-
downs and hooks, front and rear armrests, grab handles and cup holders.
The infotainment system consists of a 13.1-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and
Android Auto, as well as a DAB radio, head-up display, wireless device charging, USB
sockets, 12-volt power sockets, voice control and the All Terrain Info Centre.
Driver assistance packages include emergency braking, blind spot assist, a 3D surround
camera, adaptive cruise control with steering assist, driver condition response, lane keep
assist, park assist, rear collision and traffic monitoring, traffic sign recognition and adaptive
