2023 BMW M340i xDrive Touring
Description
Key Points: M Sport Package Pro, M Sport Differential, Panorama Glass Roof.
The seventh-generation BMW 3 Series range consists of the G20 saloon and the G21 estate, marketed as the 3 Series Touring, and is often collectively referred to as the G20 range.
The G20 3 Series is based on the Cluster Architecture (CLAR) platform, and features MacPherson strut front suspension with a multi-link setup at the rear. The windscreen uses double-glazed acoustic glass, and the cabin has improved sound insulation. All variants have a fuel-saving engine coasting system in both Eco Pro and Comfort modes.
Standard equipment includes LED headlights and taillights, automatic climate control, rain-sensing windscreen wipers, split-folding rear seats, and driver assistance systems including lane departure warning and collision warning with braking intervention.
Following the ‘LCI’ facelift in 2022, all models come standard with the ‘BMW Curved Display’, which integrates both a 14.9-inch infotainment screen and a 12.3-inch instrument display, and features iDrive with BMW OS 8.
The updated model has new front and rear bumpers, new headlights and a tweaked grille. The ZF eight-speed automatic transmission is also fitted as standard, replacing the six-speed manual entirely.
In high-performance M340i guise, power comes from the 3.0-litre ‘B58’ turbocharged straight-six, producing 382hp and 369lb ft of torque. This particular car was also specified with the sure-footed xDrive all-wheel drive system.
