2021 McLaren 720S Le Mans
Description
Key Points: 1 of 50 Worldwide, Paint Protective Film (PPF) Applied to Whole Car, Carbon Fibre Bucket Seats.
The McLaren 720S Le Mans is a limited-production version of the popular contemporary supercar, built to celebrate the 25th anniversary of McLaren’s victory in the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans, achieved by JJ Lehto, Yannick Dalmas and Masanori Sekiya in the McLaren F1 GTR #59.
Just 50 examples were delivered worldwide, of which only 16 were designated for the European market, each featuring a Le Mans dedication plate and ‘McLaren 25 Anniversary Le Mans’ logos. The VIN of each car begins with 298, in recognition of the number of laps completed by the race-winning F1 GTR.
Available in either McLaren Orange or Sarthe Grey, additional features over the standard car include Ueno Grey body trims, a roof scoop, carbon fibre louvred front wheel arches, unique five-spoke Le Mans wheels and gold brake callipers. The fully functional roof scoop channels air to provide additional cooling for the powertrain and helps to drive heat evacuation, while the carbon fibre louvred front arches reduce aerodynamic lift generated by the rotation of the front wheels, as well as reducing vehicle weight.
Inside, it comes with a choice of two bespoke Alcantara colour schemes; McLaren Orange or Dove Grey. Cabin equipment includes carbon fibre racing seats, featuring ‘McLaren 25 Anniversary Le Mans’ embroidery on the head restraints, as well as a 12 o’clock steering wheel marker and special 25 Anniversary floor mats. Power comes from a mid-mounted ‘M840T’ 4.0-litre V8, producing 710hp (720PS), which is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shift. The Le Mans edition can launch from 0-62 mph in 2.9 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 212mph.
