2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R Pro

Description

Key Points: PPF Applied To Whole Car, Magnetite Black Metallic Exterior Paint, Burmester Sound System.

Mercedes-AMG introduced the GT R Pro at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show as a more track- focused variant of the AMG GT line up. It utilises the same 577hp twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre ‘M178’ V8 as the GT R, and retains the same 3.6-second 0 to 62 mph time and 198mph top speed.

Limited to 750 units worldwide, the GT R Pro retains all of the key mechanical upgrades gained by the GT R, and features a number of changes inspired by the AMG GT3 and GT4 racing cars, including manually adjustable coil-over suspension, lightweight anti-roll bars and electronically controlled dynamic engine and transmission mounts. The GT R's optional carbon-fibre roof and carbon ceramic brakes were became standard, as did new carbon-fibre bucket seats, exclusive lightweight forged 19/20-inch alloy wheels, a carbon-fibre braced active aerodynamic front splitter and canards, new front fenders with GT3 inspired vents, a new rear diffuser with canards, new side skirts, an updated rear wing with a small downforce gurney. Interior upgrades include a 10.25-inch digital instrument binnacle and infotainment system, a Burmester surround sound system, keyless go and parking assist.

In November 2018, Mercedes-AMG conducted a test at the Nürburgring Nordschleife for the GT R Pro, where driven by Maro Engel, the car set a lap time of 7:04.632 minutes, making it the 8th fastest lap time for a road-legal production vehicle at the time.
