2019 BMW M2 Competition
Description
Key Points: 404bhp 3.0-Litre Twin-Turbocharged Straight-Six, Remus Exhaust System, M2 Plus Pack
Upon release of the BMW M2, the styling and handling characteristics were beloved among BMW fans as it felt like BMW was really trying to recreate the driving experience of the original E30 M3. The original M2 featured a tuned version of the N55 3.0-litre turbocharged straight six from the M235i and M135i, rather than taking the purebred S55 straight out of the F80 M3. This is where the M2 Competition comes in. Now featuring the full-fat S55 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged straight six with 404bhp and 550nm of torque. Finally, an engine worthy of the M badge.
The power isn't the only area where the M2 Competition stands above its little brother, though. Featuring a stiffer bodyshell, stronger strut braces for the front suspensionand improved rear suspension. These upgrades do create a hugely entertaining car to drive, with responsive steering, powerful brakes and a handling balance that makes the M2 Competition is a wonderfully easy car to control.
