2018 Porsche 911 (991.2) GT3
Description
Key Points: Paint Protection Film (PPF), Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), Clubsport Package, Porsche Warranty until March 2025.
Porsche unveiled the facelifted 991.2 GT3 at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. Extensive changes were made to the 4.0-litre flat-six derived from Porsche 911 GT3 R and Cup racing cars, including fitment of a direct injection fuel feed system, allowing for a 9,000 rpm redline. There is a stiffer crankshaft with bigger seals, as well as new pistons with different liners. The engine has a power output of 493 hp and 339 lb ft of torque.
Compared to the 991.1, the rear spoiler is 10mm taller and mounted 20mm further back, which combined with some new underbody aerodynamic tweaks, results in a 20% increase in downforce. There is a new front spoiler, larger ram air ducts and stiffer suspension.
The car generates 154 kg (340 lb) of downforce at top speed, while stopping power comes from either the standard steel or optional carbon ceramic brake discs. The 991.2 GT3 is available in both manual and PDK form, both of which come with a limited-slip differential.
Performance figures include a 0–60 mph acceleration time of 3.8 seconds (3.2 seconds for the PDK version), and a top speed of 198 mph.
