2010 Aston Martin DBS Volante
Description
Key Points: 20" Diamond Turning Silver Wheels, Bang and Olufsen BeoSound, Black Painted Brake Calipers.
The Aston Martin DBS is a refined grand touring sports car, introduced to replace the Vanquish S as Aston Martin’s flagship model, and based on the same platform as the DB9.
Unveiled two years after the coupe at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, the DBS Volante is the model’s convertible variant, which includes an electrically retractable fabric roof. It folds into the compartment located behind the seats in 14 seconds, and can be opened or closed while travelling at speeds up to 30 mph.
Power comes from the same 5.9-litre ‘AM08’ V12 as the coupe, producing around 510bhp, with rear-wheel drive through the six-speed ‘Touchtronic 2’ automatic gearbox with paddle shift. The Volante accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 4.3 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 191 mph.
Aside from the roof, features include a new bodykit and wheel design, weight-saving carbon fibre body panels, a 2+2 seating configuration, two-mode adjustable dampers, 135 litres of boot space, and the 13-speaker Bang & Olufsen BeoSound in-car entertainment system.
