2025 Porsche 911 (992) GT3 RS Weissach Package

Description

Key Points: Weissach Package, Clubsport Package, Magneisum GT3 RS Wheels, Chrono Package, VAT Qualifying

In August 2022, Porsche unveiled the 992-generation GT3 RS. A further evolution of the track-focused GT3 lineup, it features a dramatically improved aerodynamic profile, resulting in a two-fold increase in downforce over the 991.2 GT3 RS. The active rear wing can open and close automatically based on vehicle data, or manually with a button fitted to the steering wheel, inspired by Formula 1's Drag Reduction Systems (DRS).

It is powered by the 4.0-litre ‘MA2.75’ naturally aspirated flat-six, which revs to 9,000rpm and produces 518hp and 343lb ft of torque, coupled to the seven-speed PDK transmission with paddle shift. With a kerb weight of 1,450 kg, it's capable of achieving 0-62 mph in 3.2 seconds, before pushing on to a top speed of 183 mph.

The optional Clubsport and Weissach packages ensure that the 911 GT3 RS is prepared for use at motorsport events. The Clubsport Package is free of charge and includes a bolted-on steel rear roll cage, a six-point seat belt for the driver, a pre-fitted battery main switch and a portable fire extinguisher with 2 kg of extinguishing media. The shoulder straps can be used with or without the HANS safety system (head and neck support).

The Weissach Package reduces the weight further via the use of a carbon weave finish for the front lid, roof, mirror shells, and part of the large rear wing. Rear axle components such as the stabilisers, coupling rod and shear panel are also made of carbon, resulting in reduced unsprung mass and further improved handling. In conjunction with the Weissach package, lightweight magnesium forged wheels can be specified, which are more than 20% lighter than the standard aluminium wheels.

Inside, satin carbon-weave finish is also used on the steering wheel trim and door handles. The top of the dashboard is trimmed in Race-Tex to reduce reflective glare, similar to the flocked dashboards found in thoroughbred racing cars. The shift paddles are made from magnesium, with magnetic haptic elements derived from the 911 GT3 Cup for a crisp feel. The Weissach Package logo adorns the bezel of the cupholder, and is also embroidered into the headrests.
