The Mercedes-Benz G-Class is an opulent and stylish luxury SUV, which was overhauled in 2018 with a totally new chassis featuring independent front suspension and three locking differentials.

The W465-generation facelift was launched in March 2024 with a range of new engine choices, from a 3.0-litre diesel straight-six to a 4.0-litre V8, with all options featuring a new 48-volt mild hybrid system.

The updated G-Class boasts a redesigned grille and bumper, a new aerodynamic lip spoiler and additional sound deadening. Inside, the twin 12.3-inch screens have been updated to run Mercedes’ current MBUX user experience software. It includes the off-road cockpit, which displays information such as approach and departure angles, tyre pressures, and differential lock status.

In G450D form, the G-Class is powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged ‘OM656’ diesel straight-six, delivering 362hp and 553lb-ft of torque to all four wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission with paddle shift. It can reach 62mph from a standstill in 5.8 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 130mph.
