2024 McLaren 750S
Description
Key Points: Paint Protection Film (PPF) Applied To Whole Car, MSO Bespoke Chicane Grey Exterior Paint, Interior Carbon Fibre Pack.
The lightest and most powerful series-production McLaren, the V8-engined, rear-wheel-drive 750S is available in both coupe and convertible form, and it marks the final McLaren solely powered by an internal combustion engine.
Powered by a 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 producing 740bhp and 590lb ft of torque, and weighing 30kg less than the 720S, the 750S is capable of sprinting from 0-60mph in 2.7 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 206mph. In-gear acceleration is amplified by optimised transmission gearing and a revised kickdown control strategy, with the car also featuring bespoke engine mount tuning, as well as a new central-exit exhaust layout inspired by the McLaren P1.
It has the updated Proactive Chassis Control system, and the suspension springs are softer at the front and stiffer at the rear than in the 720S. Both the passive and active elements of the valve stack have been revised and the strut accumulators have been tuned to improve ride comfort, roll control, steering feedback and cornering balance. Additionally, the new spring and damper design reduces weight by 1.9kg.
The 750S is also more agile than its predecessor, with better front-end grip thanks to a 6mm wider track, as well as new suspension geometry and McLaren’s electro-hydraulic steering system, which has been given a faster steering ratio and new power-assistance pump.
Visually, the 750S boasts a new lower nose section featuring an extended front splitter, narrower ‘eye socket’ intakes that enclose the headlights, new sill air intakes and rear wheel arch vents. Rear aerodynamic revisions incorporate a redesigned and lengthened rear deck that channels air towards a distinctive raised and lengthened carbon fibre active rear wing.
The driver-focused interior features new displays for both the central infotainment system and driver instruments, with the instrument display fitted to the adjustable steering column. Controls to select powertrain and handling modes are located on either side, meaning the driver can move between Comfort, Sport and Track settings while keeping their hands on the wheel. The camera systems are upgraded for higher definition and clarity, while a new vehicle-lift system raises the front of the 750S in only four seconds, compared to the 10 seconds it takes in a 720S.
The McLaren Control Launcher (MCL) is another new feature that debuts on the 750S. MCL allows the driver to personalise their driving experience by storing a bespoke dynamic preference, such as their favourite combination of aerodynamic, handling, powertrain and transmission settings, that can instantly be recalled with a push of the MCL button.
