2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport First Edition P530 Urban Widetrack
Description
Key Points: Urban Widetrack Carbon Fibre Trim, Meridian Sound System, First Edition Specification, Milltek Sports Performance Exhaust
The L461-generation Range Rover Sport was revealed on 11 May 2022, with minimalist styling inside and out, and powertrain options ranging from MHEV, PHEV and a twin-turbo V8. Based on the MLA-Flex platform, it sits 20mm lower and is 35% stiffer than the standard L461 Range Rover.
The Sport includes a high-resolution digital driver instrument cluster display that comes standard on all models. It also features the latest iteration of the ‘Pivi Pro’ system, with a slightly curved 13.1-inch central infotainment touchscreen, as well as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is 450 litres of boot space (835 litres if measured to the roof, which expands to 1,850 litres with the seats folded). The standard-fit air suspension means that the rear of the car can be lowered using switches in the boot.
Unlike previous generations, the L461 no longer uses permanent all-wheel drive, in favour of a part-time system featuring Land Rover's Active Driveline. A controlled multi-disc clutch in the transfer case and a decoupler in the front differential are able to switch the vehicle from all-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive at speeds between 21 and 100mph.
In ‘P530’ specification, the car is powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8, producing 523hp and 553 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shift. It can accelerate from 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 155mph.
In addition to the features found on the high-end Autobiography model, the First Edition cars feature privacy glass, front fog lights, exclusive paint options, illuminated metal tread plates with ‘First Edition’ script, and satin forged carbon fibre interior trim.
This particular car has been equipped with the Widetrack styling package from the bespoke SUV modifier, Urban Automotive. It features wider wheel arches, 24-inch UF-7 forged alloy wheels, milled billet aluminium exhaust finishers, and carbon fibre on the bumpers, bonnet and diffuser.
