2021 Ferrari F8 Spider

Description

Key Points: Carbon Fibre Driver Zone with LED Shift Lights, Passenger Display, Paint Protective Film (PPF) Applied to Whole Car

The Ferrari F8 is a mid-engine sports car introduced as the successor to the Ferrari 488. It uses the same engine as the 488 Pista, a 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8, producing 710 hp at 8,000 rpm and 568 lb ft of torque at 3,250 rpm, making it the most powerful V8-powered Ferrari to date.

On the F8, the exhaust layout and the Inconel manifolds have been modified, and it also uses the turbo revolution sensors developed in the 488 Challenge to maximise the efficiency of the turbochargers based on the demand for power. The transmission is a seven-speed dual clutch automatic.

Several desirable software features are included as standard, which are controlled via the Manettino dial on the steering wheel. The car is equipped with Ferrari's latest Side Slip Angle Control traction and stability program, as well as the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer, an electronic program for managing drifts, which can be used in the ‘Race’ drive mode.

The car also features quad tail lamps, a feature that was last seen in the V8 lineage on the F430. At the rear, it sports a wrap-around rear spoiler inspired by the 308 GTB, with additional air intakes on both sides.

The F8 Spider is an open-top variant of the F8, with a folding hardtop as seen on its predecessors. The roof takes 14 seconds to open or close, and can be operated at speeds up to 28 mph.

The Spider's drivetrain is shared with the fixed-roof Tributo. It can complete the 0-62mph sprint in 2.9 seconds, and its top speed is unchanged from the coupé at 210 mph. Dry weight of the Spider is 1,400 kg, and the boot capacity allows for 200 litres of luggage space.
