2019 Ferrari 488 Spider

Description

Key Points: Paint Protection Film (PPF), Central Stripe on Racing Seats in Tricolour Leather, Gloss Nero Windscreen Frame, Roof and Rear Tonneau Cover Fins.

Designed by Flavio Manzoni as a replacement for the 458, the 488 was the first mid-engine Ferrari to use a turbocharged V8 since the F40. The two-seat ‘Spider’ variant debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2015 with a folding hardtop, though the powertrain remained the same as on its coupé counterpart.

It is powered by a twin-turbocharged aluminium dry sump 3.9-litre ‘F154’ V8, producing 661bhp and 561lb ft of torque, driving the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with paddle shift. The 488 Spider is 50 kg heavier than the coupé, and 10 kg lighter than the 458 Spider. It can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 3.0 seconds, and has a claimed top speed of 202mph.

As standard, it features carbon-ceramic brakes derived from the LaFerrari, and exclusive 20-inch five-spoke wheels suitable for tyre fitments 245/35 at the front and 305/30 at the rear.
