Launched at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the GT12 is a hardcore, track-focused variant of the Aston Martin Vantage, limited to just 100 units.

Based on the Vantage V12 S, it is powered by a new iteration of the 6.0-litre ‘AM28’ V12, featuring new magnesium inlet manifolds with revised geometry and a titanium exhaust system, producing 592bhp and 461lb-ft of torque, and driving the rear wheels through a seven-speed single-clutch automatic manual transmission with a limited-slip differential. It has a kerb weight of 1,565kg, and can accelerate from 0 to 60mph in 3.5 seconds.

Inspired by Aston Martin’s GT3 racing cars, it is lower and wider than any Vantage ever produced, and features downforce-boosting wings and splitters, as well as lightweight carbon fibre for the bumpers, front wings and bonnet. With the optional carbon fibre roof and lightweight plastic windows selected, the GT12 is 100kg lighter than standard, with a 1,565kg kerb weight.

The cabin features a combination of lightweight carbon fibre and Alcantara, and despite the focus on weight-saving, the stereo and satellite navigation have been retained.

There are three-stage adjustable dampers, with Normal, Sport and Track settings, as well as a separate Sport mode for the powertrain, which sharpens the throttle and gearbox response times.
