A chance to own the limited edition AMG GT Track Series

Built to mark the 55th anniversary of AMG, the Mercedes-AMG GT Track Series is the most powerful customer sports car ever made by the Affalterbach firm. Based on the GT Black Series, it is limited to a production run of just 55 units; one for each year of AMGs existence as of the car’s release in 2022.

Though it is eligible for the Fanatec GT2 European Series, the GT Track Series is built primarily for use during track days and club sport events. A GT Track Series raced as an invitational entry at the Red Bull Ring in the 2022 GT2 European Series.

Its 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged ‘M178’ V8 produces 734hp courtesy of motorsport injectors and a tuned ECU, while torque climbs from 590lb ft to 627lb ft. The engine drives the rear wheels through a Hewland six-speed racing gearbox with an adjustable differential and a carbon fibre torque tube for a torsion-resistant connection to the engine.

The bonnet, fenders, side sills, boot lid and rear bumper are all made from carbon fibre, and the lack of internal padding or electric windows results in a kerb weight of 1,400kg; 122kg lighter than the Black Series. It has 18-inch milled and forged alloy wheels, as well as the same GT3-derived Panamericana grille and aerodynamic kit from the Black Series, 355mm four-piston rear steel brakes with an adjustable brake beam, a custom downforce-boosting front splitter, and adjustable Bilstein dampers and anti-roll bars.

Inside, a steel roll cage is bolted directly to the aluminium space frame, and a large carbon safety cell is included alongside a five-point safety harness, a roof-mounted extrication hatch, a motorsport fire extinguisher system, driver safety nets and customisable foam seats. Alongside the embossed ‘1 of 55’ plaque and ‘Track Series’ seat embroidery, it has a new steering wheel, adjustable pedals, a Bosch DDU 11 Driver Display Unit with data logging, and a 12-way adjustable ABS and traction control system.
